When I went from what I call a manual bike to electronic and the dealer was pointing out the radio, idiot lights, etc. I asked him where the air conditioning was? he smiled and said it was in my right hand!
That was a good answer. Did he happen to point out the outside temperature gauge on the fairing LOL
Same with transport mode. If you are not spot each step it does no work.
Not yet. When I purchased the bike from a private party he showed me how the FOB worked.
The seller did tell me that the lights would flash when moving it. And he did say that he did not know
how to get it into transport mode
So when I was dragging her home on the trailer the ol girl was flashing to beat the band
Well the ol Shovelhead didn't have all these bells and whistles.
The last Ultra Classic I rode before I bought this one was when an old friend bought one new when the Evo came out
Still no check engine light, no ABS, no FOB, and no security system.
And the throttle was still a cable
At 62 , yes you earned the "head up ***" syndrome. I'll let you in on a FYI, there's more. It gets worse not better from here.
Glad you sorted this one out. Regards, from another oldster.
There ya go killing that last feeling I had LOL
Is there some sort of trophy, ribbon, something. At the least there should be a participation trophy for this LOL
Just a guess. He said the hazards came on. That would indicate both switches were pressed at the same time which is a no no.
Yep. It came under... At first if you don't succeed, try something else LOL
Which goes through the brain as, well that didn't work maybe if you try this
OH **** that didn't work either. Now how in the hell do ya turn the hazards off LOL

I had no reason to trailer my bike ,until I did. Hauled it one way no problem FOB was in the Tour pack.
On the way back Hannigan handed me the FOB. Tossed it in the car. Yep in the mirror 4 ways going .
Toss fob in tour pack problem solved. I looked it up when home and figured out the transport mode.
I still have my1996 FB it of course does not have any of this stuff.

OH GREAT now you tell me this LOL I could have tossed the FOB in the trunk. Now it's just the saddlebags.
I took the trunk off, pardon me tour pack, and turned her into an Electra Glide.
OK, COOL
Just gave the PIN code a try. That was simple.
Being that simple, and me being an optimist and seeing the glass is ALWAYS 1/4 full
can't help but thinking something can and will go wrong
But don't worry about that, I've been living with that problem all my life LOL
Turn switch to ignition, press right and left turn signal buttons once at the same time
BUT you only have 2 seconds to push the turn signal buttons
BAM the odometer cames up wanting my PIN
Left turn signal get number, right turn signal set number and move on
Pushed the juice button, check engine light on, check engine light off
Hit the contact switch
Now damn that was pretty cool
I remember the days of carrying a huge lock and chain with you LOL
I want to thank everyone for the help.
I really appreciate it
One more thing learned on this ride
You should have seen me changing out the radio that was a hoot
With the help of a friend and pointing me in the right direction got the new radio in
BUT I went to turn on the ignition and the radio came on. Then went to start the bike
AND no juice. HOLY CRAP what did I do, What wire did I f**k up.
So I contacted my friend who was giving me pointers through text. All he said was
It shouldn't do that LOL That's the best ya got, IT SHOULDN'T DO THAT LOL
Then the next morning as I was walking the dog, I started thinking what the hell could it be
Then I asked myself, HEY DUMB **** where was your FOB LOL
Yeah, right on the dresser where I left it LOL
