Default S&S Super E Mixture Screw Broken and Stuck

I just picked up a new to me S&S Super E carb from a swap meet. When I got it home, I started tearing it apart to rebuild it and noticed that the idle mixture screw tip is broken off and poking through the carb throat. I don't know why I didn't notice this before buying it. I know to look for this, but I didn't. I must have been distracted.
I tried tapping the tip of the screw back into the hole, but it just bent. I'm thinking I will carefully grind the visible and now bent screw tip down to the carb throat level and then heat the carb body by boiling it and then get a pick to push the screw tip out.
If I'm successful in getting it out, What are the chances of fixing the now larger hole that is there? Is the carb body now just junk? Has anyone come across this and was to able to fix the larger hole for the mixture screw tip when someone cranked the mixture screw down too far? Is there a larger diameter tipped mixture screw that someone makes? Any ideas?

According to S&S, "Over tightening idle mixture screw may cause irreversible damage to carburetor body." 510-0251_super_eg_series_shorty_carbs.pdf (revzilla.com) page 5, upper left

I've read numerous times that once the idle mixture screw is tightened to the point of deforming the carb body that the idle mixture will be off from then on.

Damn, thought I had a couple of those screws but turns out that's about the only extra spare part I don't have. Sorry.

Being a tapered tip you may get away with just having to turn the screw a wee bit more to get the correct idle/air mixture. When you get a new screw you'll have to try it and hope for the best. G'luck, man.

It's possible that it was just broken off from handing. Take it to a machine shop and see if they can remove it..

I called S&S. They said if I can get the broken tip out, there is a chance it will still work fine with another screw. It may just have to be screwed down more so the tip sticks through the carb throat and it shouldn't hurt anything that way...if it can be tuned that way. It's just a simple hole. No, they don't make a larger screw.
