2021 Street Glide

Coming home today I noticed check engine light on. And shortly after my bike goes into limp mode. I'm on a busy toll expressway in rush hour traffic. Definitely not a place you want to have problems.

I barely make it over to the side. I check the error code and I get P1511h

I Google the problem and get throttle wire for P1511. With no small h at the end of the code?

What does that mean? Is P1511h the same as P1511?

I clear the code and bike starts back up and no problem finishing the 76 miles home.

But now I need to figure out what's wrong. I want to figure out what's wrong before I can trust going any distance.

Anybody have any tips or know what I need to do? I don't wanna take it to the dealer if I can help it.

 

My Fuel Moto error code says, "P1511 EFI Power Management Mode". I believe the "h" simply refers to Harley.

Just a guess, but I think it just went into "limp mode" because of over heating. I'd just ride it until it happens again. Some other thoughts below:

 

h is a historical code.

 

Thanks I saw that video gonna check all connections today. Come to think of it my bike felt like it was getting hot on right side when I went through toll booth. Hope it's not oil sump problems. I have a 2021 and supposedly that problem was fixed!

I just got this bike last year. Had three Heritage Softails before it and NEVER had ANY problems with any of them ever. Sheesh!
