Question Checking error codes

I have a Street 500. I have searched and searched and have only found one video on how to check for error codes. It says to press and hold the trip button while turning the key on and then Wow! diagnostics will come up. this is not happening for me. The only video I found was of a Street 500. I tried different iterations of when to press and hold then turn the key, press and hold, turn the key later, press turn the key, then hold. The diags are not coming up. Can anyone tell me the absolute correct way to do this???

This is the procedure I use. I can't imagine it doesn't apply to the Street models, but it's worth a look.
