I hope you can do your own maintenance and repairs, including paint and crash repair work. You'll need it. Also a truck and trailer for bike recovery.
Had a buddy who ran a small bike rental business and the maintenance and minor crash repair work was constant. He gave it up in the end.
Also you will need outstanding customer service skills to deal with the constant complaints over trivia, or over problems they cause themselves, or over just trying to get out of paying full price or paying for damage they have inflicted. Or just dealing with the public in general. Forty-nine per cent of them are below average IQ.
In any operation like this you need more units. You have to spread the risk out over more units to cover the costs.
Both the ones you are a aware of now and the ones you have not considered.. Taxes or any state or local permits required inspection, on and on..

I don't even let friends sit on my bike never mind turning it lose with a stranger for a couple of bucks. Besides, I doubt your insurance would pay if a renter smashed it up causing property damage and or personal injury. That would leave you as the owner on the hook to pay up. It would be cheaper and less risk to give the bike away and if you decide to go that way let me know.
FL does not require motorcycle insurance weirdly enough. All of these apps have included insurance coverage. The riders do leave a deposit. I would have my attorney look over their insurance docs to make sure ITs sufficient.
I own several rental properties so I know what to expect with renters
Nobody rides my bike, except my mechanic. Karma is a bitch. I am superstitious enough to believe pimping my bike out would result in a pissed off bike waiting to get even with me. I already have problems with it because it was a dead mans bike.
I'm going to break out an old cross thread here...would you let your girl friend go on a 5 day motorcycle road trip with 5 other guys? If your answer is yes then by all means rent the bike out and post your girls info here. Have you ever rented a car or anything in your lifetime? Whatever it is you can guarantee that it's getting abused...so my answer will be a hard no.
