Plate cover
In many states, any kind of cover is illegal, a reason to be pulled over.
Then there is toll evasion, a pricey ticket.
Looking to the 'net:
Spray on paints seem not to work.
There are covers that can be read from directly behind, but become silver when viewed from the side.
I think the best cover is a curtain that is built into the license plate frame that can be lowered and raise by the push of a button.
Do a net search for stories, tests, and options.
However, I would be interested in those infra-red lighting options, yet maybe our co-members can comment further or provide some real-world examples/ stories.
These lights are supposed to interact with cameras and flashes making a plate a solid square when photographed.
FWIW I have also seen kits in which only the plate letters and numbers are covered, again making the plate unreadable when photo'd, yet the plate is readable from all angles by the human eye. Yes, I would like to read more examples and have more info on those too.
Big brother at his finest; these automated tickets.
Just awaiting auto speeding tickets issuance from plate readers calculating speed between point A & B.
forest gump said it all
"stupid is what stupid does, and you cannot fix stupid"
if people would follow the law then this would not be an issue. i live a foot ball field from a state highway and there is not one day that passes where i do not hear sirens, the red light that joins two roads nearby is a constant source of runners, i have had two close calls myself and one on my motorcycle that i was nearly missed by 18" and nearly rear ended in my truck all because of "AHOLES"!!!!
what is 2 minutes?????
worth killing someone over just to get to walmart???
i say bring them on and if you are concerned about where the money goes, press you politicians to donate it to a worthy cause.
if people would only be smart, then big brother need not step in. case in point:
why in the 60's, a 1.5hp lawn mower could cut anything in its path and today the average is 5hp and weighs twice as much and a "B" to maneuver.
look at all the safeties on hd, once again to protect the stupid, jeez do i need an kick stand or clutch inter-lock??? if people could walk and chew gum at the same time, the cell phone is an example and the reason now that is the first thing lawyers go for so you better have DEEP pockets!!!
