This question may very well wind up on the cutting room floor and I understand if that happens.
I live in a city that has 25 mph speed cameras, red light cameras and now the city fathers are voting on noise decibel cameras which will also pass because NYC is running out of money and we all know why.
I haven't had the pleasure of getting those tickets
yet but its a matter of time.
When passed, these cameras were only working weekdays during school hours near schools.....good idea! Now they run 24/7 365 days and are everywhere....now its a cash grab.
Has anyone had success with photo blocking license covers.....do they work? Of course this is for information only, I would never think of using one
I guess it depends, most brownshirts aka LE are not looking, run an old expired tag off someones vehicle. Between cameras and those plate readers, chances of actually getting pulled over are nil anymore unless youre riding like a retard. Its as you state, money grab. And unless youre served by a human those dont stand, toss in trash.
For a while in AZ we were under that BS, I would drive the wifes car and vice versa. When we got the photo saying identify the perp, we would laugh and toss in trash. It was her driving and me in passenger seat or as stated, vice versa.
Funniest one, one guy wore a horses head, and was racking up the tickets they staked his house trying to nail him. They couldnt. He had to by legal action put on head in view of a cop. He was no dummy. It was hilarious especially once news stations started following too maybe put plate on upside down, if actually pulled over, play the dumb game and say you must have been pranked.

Good luck!
I agree 100% however here in NY if the tickets from cameras are not paid within their time limits DMV will suspend the vehicles registration. .
Up here in Canada some people use computer privacy screens, cut to fit behind clear covers. The plate is not visible from angles, only when looking straight on and level. The screens are available on amazon or at any computer/office supply store.
