It is not that I do not want to be able to update it. I do not want a product that has to be online when you use it. For the reasons I stated you don't always have locations with internet, and metal buildings are bad if using cell signal.
It was a deal breaker for me. I asked if I could take the product to the internet and then come back to use it. Nope. As in go to the house start it and then go back to garage.

Mine has refused me certain functions without a connection though I don't recall specifically which ones. I don't think it will pull the pin code without contacting their servers and doing some verification but I could check that if necessary.

No one seems to agree. I would like to think a manufactorer would make it so their dealers can program new keys with out powering the bike up. It happens, people lose keys, people die.
Skidoo really sucks. You can't give them a number off the key, you have to bring the sled to them, and have them mate the keys. But they can do it without a working key.
The dealership can not program a new key fob with Digital Tech 2 with having a working key fob or knowing the security PIN. I know from the years I worked at a dealership plus I have had a dealership call me to retrieve the PIN for them because they didn’t have a BCM for a customer that was traveling thought.

I have. Just like my bikes. But since we don't ever have to worry about meeting up and knowing which ride is mine, I don't feel the need to post now
One funny discussion was someone who had no clue about sleds, posting up a picture of sled with high risers thinking there was something wrong with it, when that is the way the industry has gone. My hands go numb on modern sleds if I sit down to ride. I usually stand or kneel.
