Default Four mirrors?

Hi

I’ve got an 01 electraglide in need of improved rear viz. if it were up to me, I’d put giant bozo sized wind and view blocking mirrors on it but I can’t find any. Plus aesthetics…. I think long stem handlebar mounted will help and maybe I can add faring mount to focus on the blind spots.

that would be four mirrors. it’ll look mildly silly but not too bad (it’s my bike anyway ). But will it be dizzying or confusing somehow? Has anyone done this config? I guess truckers use even more mirrors but they have a little more shell to see around.

im tall and can’t see through my shoulders in standard original setup. I’m pretty sure no one tested the standard design. not sure I want ape bars.

I got my first truck with the little mirror inside the mirror, it really helps. I have seen add on ones of those for bikes.

Have you tried mounting the mirrors below the bars?

I add the 2" convex mirrors to the stock ones, wider view in a pinch, vehicles right next to me are visible.

I tried the H-D split vision mirrors and took them off after one ride. Both mirror surfaces are set at the same angle so they’re worthless as blind spot mirrors.

Now I have the H-D long stem mirrors with H-D mirror extensions and I can see much better behind me and to the sides.

Many years ago I purchased a mirror stem extention.
It basically bolted to threaded part of stem and raised mirror stem straight up at bars.
That permitted mirror to capture rear view and not my shoulder.

I honestly hate the look of the mirrors, they remind me of alien antennas.
I moved them below the bars (not in the avatar). I'd remove them completely if I didn't occasionally use them.
They catch my elbow, but a simple lift of the arm eliminates the obstructed view.
