OK, new here. Picked up a "new to me" 2014 Ultra Limited with 39k on it. I don't have much history on the bike and have almost no miles on it since buying it a couple weeks ago. Decided since weather is pretty. bad right now, good time to go through the bike. Rebuilt front forks with pro-action kit (including new bushings, seals) and replaced rear OEM air shocks with Pro-actions. Battery was pretty weak, so replacing that. Bike ran fine before tearing it down - a bit slow turning over at the start but nothing other than that. Fired quickly. I wasn't happy with the suspension 2 up (or even one up) and knew I wanted to do something about that.
Here's the problem. Putting the bike back together after all of that, and after replacing the fuel tank and connecting everything tried to start it. Bike turns over fine, however won't fire. It kind of "feels like" it's not getting fuel at all. I can hear the fuel pump come on when the ignition is turned on. I did have a little bit of a pain getting the fuel line quick release fitting back in there. A couple attempts resulted in it not locking in place, and in fuel leaking.
This is my first newer Harley. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance.
I'd pull that fuel line disconnect back off and look it over. Since you were having issues getting it connected, maybe something isn't lined up right and engaged fully to open up the valve, because by the sounds of it, not getting fuel, seems like a real possability.
Ok, replaced internal line with quick disconnect. Pulled rear plug and it shows spark. When trying to start should the butterfly open on the throttle body? It does nothing.
