Two screws on the backside hold the tach "cup" on, remove that then the tach itself goes out the front. I have never seen a clear one, but per your pic it looks like the brass screw should be what needs to come out, two of them. Good luck.

Yea, the pic is mid-leading. It’s not clear. There was a single Allen that removed the chrome cover. I’m thinking that lower rubber gasket (isolation gasket) has to be removed in order to get it to move forward out of the bracket?

If you've already removed the cup,
rock it while pushing it up from the bottom and twisting.
A little lube helps. WD40, KRIL oil, dish soap.

OK, but does that rubber seal/gasket have to come off 1st?

Rubber grommet is an isolator between the tach and the bracket. It comes out with the tach, then slide it off the housing. It is a one piece rubber isolator/gasket, not lower and upper like you think.

Couple of decent pics of it all apart, not same year but same idea:

I have read the post again.
It reads like a chrome cover was removed already and you have posted a picture of the tachometer after the bottom chrome cup cover was removed.
Kinda guessing since year and model of bike is unclear and the brand of tachometer is not mentioned....
From the picture it looks like perhaps the upper rubber ring and lower rubber ring might be one piece and act like an isolation unit within that metal mounting bracket.
If that is the situation.....then some silicone spray just under the bottom lip should be enough to softly push unit UP and out.
**On a side note: How LONG are those handlebar clamp allen bolts?
Generally those bolts are not too long and I see a spacer and bracket that would reduce threading of clamp if they are originals.

OK. I understand. The tach you see is just loosely attached temporarily until I get the new/correct bracket for
those straight risers. That mount was used for
pullbacks that were on the bike, so those spacers won’t be there when the new mount is installed. Should have the new mount today

Also, I guess the wires will have to be disconnected from the back of the housing if it has to be removed UP and OUT the front, correct?
