I have an issue where my bike more often than not asks me for my PIN when I power it up.
I know the PIN so I can start is however the bike itself has a new battery (last summer), sits on a tender over winter, and I have replaced both Fob batteries.
Once in a while the bike will power up normally, but as mentioned more often than not it asks me for the PIN now.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what else I can check to try to stop this? It's only started happening within the last year.
Perhaps take it to a dealer to have it reprogrammed / rekeyed?
Check the voltage of the battery in the Fob- new is no guarantee of good. The system needs the Fob batteries @ ~3.2VDC to transmit properly, and their range (which deteriorates over time) is about 3' when new. I had a bunch of wally world CR2032 batteries @2.8 volts out of the package
If the voltage is ≥ 3.2Volts, it's possible the antenna module may be failing. Cheap enough to swap- part number is 68956-07, retail is less than $20
