Default Noise Sound Cameras

Using Noise Cameras for Motorcycles – Local Councils to Decide

Just read that here in the UK, the government isn’t planning to bring in nationwide laws for those new “noise cameras” aimed at catching loud motorcycles. Instead, they’ll leave it up to local councils to decide if and where to install them. These devices use microphones and AI to detect bikes that exceed legal decibel limits, and then issue fines—similar to speed cameras, but for sound.

Can see it getting worse once the local papers pick up on this as through the summer here have noticed a lot of the food delivery riders have be knocking out their baffles and making more noise. With the riders on L plates doing the same and a few recently learnt how to wheelie down the main road I can see the police taking action .

It got me wondering—are any U.S. states rolling out similar tech? If so, how strict are they being, and will it end up targeting Harley riders in particular, given their distinctive exhaust notes?

Curious to hear what’s happening across the pond.

Edit:

Another article just popped up in the newspaper.

Haven't heard of anything like that here.
Usually they set up check points.

Started in a few cities. Looks to be rather indiscriminate , if a stock system gets you a ticket.....

Got it in a county here in my state, as a trial program. I suspect some others might follow suit.

The hearsay is that they only trigger on really loud exhausts.

We have a couple "loud exhaust" warning sings along the Coast Highway here in Carlsbad, but have not heard about any noise sensors.

every state has sound ordinances but the NEVER enforce them unless there is a complaint!!!
i wish they would enforce them to the "Nth" degree. it is impossible to get away from them. trouble is they think there are gods and do as they may regardless to other's discomfort. i think it is a form of domestic terrorism!!!
if i take a weapon and fire it into the air, that projectile must come down and yep it has even killed people. that is against the law and you will be prosecuted. police use flash bang to subdue criminals, are everyday law abiding citizens criminals???
there is endless documentation on how sound is harmful, shoot, even in war they used sound. even totally helpless creation suffers, look at the navy and sonar. the police used it in waco texas, turned out bad, the issue is, patience could have worked out better by getting the one they were after off base, he wasn't going anywhere and they knew who he was.
with today's tech, why don't the idiots use BT and rattle the two remaining brain cells they have, but no, it is all about them and how much they can brag with the no telling how many watts the amps put out.
so they only way to deal with them is in the courts. trouble here is that the idiots then want to kill you, and that has happened.
i play the guitar and i will crank it up, but in an environment that does not affect others, i do not go out and crank the amp 100% and do a rendition of jimi hendrix voodoo child.
