also remember there are diff types of phillips heads. no problem here getting a larger cross section driver in a regular handle driver, those bit types are harder to find but they are out there, i have several that was with a hand impact set.
that said, i could be to you adv to use an impact with a love tap, the torque is instant and short, less chance for walk.
Thanks for you suggestions and inspiration. I managed to file down a larger flat screwdriver i found deep, deep down in my tool box.
And it worked very well, the screws came loose and I could check my air cleaner, change my throttle wire and learn how the handle-twist is assembled and works on my sportster.
Being I like tools, I'd have just gone out and bought the right one instead of destroying one.
I agree with you, Ranger. Ofcourse you'd have to convince the PH5 (or larger?) phillips head driver of the same, as it has been cunning enough to avoid us all, this far. But being you like tools, perhaps even being a lucky owner of a PH5 phillips screwdriver, you'd be so kind to please point me in the right direction.
