Default Where does this screw go?

Was installing the rear wheel on my 2020 Fat Bob yesterday and this screw fell to the floor while reinstalling my exhaust. Definitely is not a screw I have ever removed from the bike before. Appears to have fallen from right side of bike, around passenger peg area. Can't seem to find where it came from. Bike is completely stock except for some V&H exhaust tips

Looks like one of the small countersunk heat shield/passenger peg bracket screws. Check the right side exhaust shield and peg mount area first. Either that or one fell out of your wrist while working on it 😄

What do the threads look like? That's a long shank with torx head so in this pic it almost looks like deck screw.

It's hard to tell since you can't see the threads. It doesn't like a factory screw judging from the head.

Sorry should have been more specific. Only the end is threaded. It is 1/2 inch with a T10 head

I can't think of a spot for a counter sunk screw. Actually has me thinking this fell out of an accessory like a phone mount and ended up lost in the chassis until you start working the exhaust and freed the bolt from hiding. Wouldn't worry much.

Maybe you just picked it up in your tire while ridding.

I have visions in the Le Mans film where Carrol Shelby (Matt Damon) tosses a wheel nut into the Ferrari garage.

funny
warner riley a hd racer had a nut come off the air cleaner, went through the engine and out the tail pipe and no damage on his stroker running 5k at around 200 mph at bonneville flats.
