Anyone know of any Indys in Fairbanks, AK? Headed up there from the lower 48 and want to get the bikes serviced. There are 3 of us traveling together and will be there at the end of June. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks in advance for any help you are able to provide.
There has been a couple articles in the AMA magazine on people's trips up through Alaska and they did name shops they used - I do not have the old articles, but the one thing they pointed out that there were few places and that the places were not friendly, and gouged the crap out of them for work. So be prepared. Maybe someone here still has the articles?
Just using Google, I see at least 8 powersports/motorcycle businesses, including FN Harley. They all should be able to change the oil, check other fluids, and even check spark plugs.
There within lies the issue. Google doesn’t provide an accurate picture. Example, here in central Florida I spent time looking for a indy on the web. Those that I found were old posts that most have gone away. Finally through a friend of a friend I found an excellent indy. I understand that there is a HD dealer in Fairbanks, however I’m more inclined to seek out an indy if possible. As someone pointed out, there is no need for sarcasm on a simple inquiry. If you so inclined to feed the Harley dealers, good for you. But there are a number of us riding that when we can’t work on our bike due to being on the road, we seek out qualified independents. Many of whom worked for the dealerships and just wanted to go out on their own.
