Default Kendon Trailers

Could someone give me feedback both bad & good regarding their experiences using Kendon standup trailers? I am considering purchasing a dual standup trailer and would like some general feedback. One of my concerns are: 1) If only loading one bike (1000 lbs) onto one side, will that cause a negative weight dispersion? Will the trailer and / or bike bounce around?

Thanks in advance for any input.

The suspension is built to handle one bike on either side of the trailer.
They are excellent.
Mine was a 1999.
If you have the rock guards and optional box mounted on the front it is extremely difficult for one person to stand the trailer upright.
Tows perfectly.

I USED AN EARLY MODEL KENDON STAND UP BEFORE THEY CHANGED FROM SOLID WHEEL CHOCKS TO THE BENDED ROUND STEEL ONES. MINE WAS PROBABLY 1999 VINTAGE. CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT 'EM. PERFECTLY BALANCED. TOWED LIKE A DREAM. COULD ONLY FIT TWO CRUIZERS OR ONE BAGGER ON IT. IF TOWED SINGLE BIKE I LOADED IT ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND THE THING WAS STILL IN PERFECT BALANCE. I HAD A BLOW OUT ON MY TOW VEHICLE NORTH OF NASHVILLE GOING 70 MPH DOWN A HUGE SWEEPING CURVE. I MANAGED TO PULL THE TRUCK OVER TO THE SHOULDER. WHEN I WENT BACK TO INSPECT THE BIKES, ONE OF MY FRONT HANDLEBAR TIEDOWNS HAD SNAPPED THAT WAS HOLDING THE RIGHT SIDE LOADED SUPERGLIDE. ALL IT DID WAS JOSTLE THE BIKE ENOUGH TO BREAK A MIRROR AND THAT'S IT! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TRAILER, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE STRAPPED FOR STORAGE SPACE.

I hafta to tell you a funny story that happend to me several years ago. I borrowed one from a friend. A single bike trailer. My Toy Carrier was stolen. I tried riding the bike up onto the Kendon like my Toy Carrier. Bad mistake. I was successful a couple of times. I used it to tow the bike from Tampa to the Dragon over a long weekend. When it came time to load the bike up for the trip home I didn't have any help to load it so I tried riding it up. I looked down for an instant to check the back tire. I was halfway up the ramp and over we went. The design of the flat top does not allow you to put your feet down. Very unforgiving. There is no locking wheel chock. Somebody needs to hold the bike up until you strap it down. The moral of this story is never try to load a bike on a Kendon without help. You can get away with using the engine power to help get it up the ramp but Kendon does not recommend it. Don't get me wrong. For as often as you would probably use a trailer it is a perfect design. Just recognize it's shortfalls. Actually those landscaper trailers are pretty good and you can load it by yourself.

I have a 2005 Kendon dual trailerwith the tool box and stone guard, I had two sportsters and now waitingfor a Road King, it's ok with one or two bikes, and they do have locking wheel chocks. If you get the dual trailer and want to use it for one, and really want the bike in the center, they make a center rail for it, you don't have to but you can.I live in Virginia and tow bikes to Louisiana. (back home) it's great, stands up in the garage till I need it.
Go to their web site and get the info. you want.

I have an earlier model Kendon single trailer late 90's. It has the old style rail but I am ordering the locking wheel chock from Kendon, believe the price is around $170.00.I bought the trailer used for $800. It was in excellentshape and towed flawlessing for 300 mileswithout the bike (I bought it used from an individual in Mississippi). It takes up very little space in my garagein the upright position. I may never have to use it but if I do, I have it. I like the fact that it has 13"standard car tires, aluminum deck plating anddecent suspension.I have three separate tie down locations which is more than enough to secure thecycle. Would be easy to tie-down extra luggage and ice chests to the trailer also.
