Take the baseball card out of your spokes. Just kidding, couldn't help myself. Have someone kneel down at the back of your bike while you back it up to see if they can identify the noise. It could be anything at this point.

Check the belt out for noises, especially if you just washed the bike.

My Roadstar Warrior has done this pretty much since it was new. Figured out it was the belt.22,000 miles later with no problems or excessive wear on the belt.

Wombat, most of us did put the baseball cards in the spokes, and yes, we were cool.

BUT............................................... ...........................

Do you realize what that card would be worth today?[sm=yikesomg.gif]

Luckily I just used some of my dad's Mickey Mantle rookie cards whoever that was.

Its just the drive belt teeth against the pulley. Check that your rear wheel is properly aligned.

You'll find that if you watch the belt as you roll the bike forward and then watch it as you roll it backward that the belt tracs to opposite sides of the pully which is a normal thing on harleys, nothing to worry about. They sometimes make a noise when backing it up. Just make sure your wheel alignment is spot on.
