Air Cleaner Cover Bolt Loose

Air Cleaner Cover Bolt Loose
Guys,
I had something happen today that I haven't had happen in 20 years of riding. As I was putting along on my Road King, my air cleaner cover started rattling. I grabbed it (thinking that the Cover Screw had worked it's way out) and tried to bring it up into my lap to assure I wouldn't lose it as I was slowing down to pull over. As I grabbed it, the cover would not come off. It just hung there against the air cleaner rattleing away. I pegged my leg against the cover and buzzed home.
When I got home I noticed the cover screw was still in there. When I tried to remove it it began to spin as if something broke behind it. I've been staring at this for about an hour loosening bolts to get the air cleaner cover off to no avail.
Any suggestions?

If the bolt is loose u can try to pry the bolt outward with a screwdriver or needlenose pliers ( careful - maybe use masking tape to protect chrome) at same time try to unscrew the the bolt while appling pressure
had same problem with my holly aircleaner on my cage
