If you have a stick welder that is DC then you have most of the cost for the TIG already. If you have never TIG welded before, then I recommend the MIG welder. TIG welding is clean, but takes both hands and a lot of coordination. MiG with a little practice can run real nice.
Don't skimp on the welder though. The amps should be up around 170 with CO2 and hard wire, like E70- 3/32 or smaller and you will never regret it. That setup will weld about anything you need to weld.
