we were up in wyoming and montana last summer and bought gas a couple of times with no ethanol...mileage was a little better...could tell no difference performance wise.
Same here. I'll spend the extra if I'm in the area when I need gas but will not go out of my way to get it. Might be a different story if E15 or higher gets mandated. Have to say the Pure stations around Nashville are OK. One near me leaves their pumps on and switched to credit only all night so customers can buy when they are closed.
same here in the panhandle of Florida. I got an extra 2 or 3 mpg but not enough to warrant me spending an extra 30cent a gallon.
They devil is in the detail as far as just getting better MPG's. From what I understand the corrosive properties of E10 are not good for any gas buring motors be they 2 or 4 cycle.
I have three stations near me, one less than a mile away. The thing is, whether it's non ethanol or not, all the supreme blends around me are 93 octane. So, I don't see a huge diffence in MPG. That being said, I do tend to put in the ethanol free fuel. I figure for only a buck or two more, it's a no brainer to keep the corn syrup out of my engine.

Ethanol gas around my neck of the woods is almost unheard of, which for me is nice as I wont touch the stuff, mainly because I have heard so much conflicting info that I just dont see the point of switching till I have to.
I have heard all sorts of good and bad things about it: Long term its not good for the motor, it is good for the motor, it smells, it doesnt smell, it causes you to burn more oil, it doesnt, better and worse mileage, yadda yadda yadda....
I dont know enough about it to make a decision, so i'll stick to what I know... My motor loves the 100 Octane (RON) that i feed it. When my motor is happy, i am happy
I run 92 octane in my Harley's and my old Correct Craft. Ethenol is used to bump up ocatne rating as noted on pumps, Regular fuel with Methanol added (R+M Method). Last summer I found the Mustang wasnt running right, pulled the Holley and noticed water beading up on the intake, found the water seperator filled with water, and the tank had a good 3" of water in the bottom. Was told that Ethenol or Menthenol whatever you want to call it, attaracts moisture which is why all the marinas only sell premium fuels with no methanol added.
