I own an '03 FLHT with the gray engine. Recently I started to notice some dark spots on the gray areas of the engine. I tried washing them off using S-100, but it didn't touch the spots. I also tried Meguires extra stength degreaser without any luck. Some of the spots appear to be water marks, but most of them just look like dark marks, possibly from dirt being picked up by a little grease or oil on the surface of the paint. But it's not from an oil leak.
The local H-D dealer told me that the only way to get rid of them was to have his painter air brush them. Has anyone else had this problem and found a better solution?
