Default Road Oil on Engine Case...HELP!

I got caught in the rain on a freshly paved stretch of highway...the road was super smooth and a comfortable ride, however, the fresh oil got ALL OVER my engine case and random parts. I have tried a few things to try and clean it, but nothing is working. It comes right off the smooth pieces, but hasn't budged on the rough texture of the rest of it. Anyone have any ideas? Sure makes the bike look ugly. Thanks for any info you may have.

I would try turpentine. I have never used it on engine paint (or anywhere else on a bike) so as they say, test in an inconspicuous area first.

WD 40 is a good gp cleaner with a brass tooth brush type to clean on the unpainted rough areas

Anyone else used CitraSolv? I'd love to get this crap off the engine case and try to make it look good again.

State or county road? Go to their shop and ask them what they use to take it off. I'm sure they've taken their share off their trucks and equipment. Ha, just noticed how old the post is, it's probably worn off by now :]
