Definately sounds like a communication issue, Go up the ladder and speak with the owner or GM, you said you struck a good deal.......maybe his mouth wrote checks he cant cash.
Personally, if I thought that I was getting the run around, I would look around the area and see what else I could come up while still leaving my current order with the HD man. If I found that someone else was more interested in making me happy, that's where I would go. I don't like getting the run around when I have it in my mind to do something. Just my 2cts worth.
As a couple of the other guys have said, if you have your mind made up on the exact bike YOU want, make sure you stick to your guns so you're not kicking yourself in the *** later - maybe you could do some looking somewhere else without canceling the current order. One other thing to watch out for, don't let the salesperson swing you around to another bike, putting pressure on you, and turn things upside down so fast you don't know what happened. If you think there is a possibility of going with another bike, I would suggest that you know ahead of time what other bike could be a possible choice for you, so you're not caught off guard by a last minute decision - you want to be certain the Harley you buy is the one YOU want. Definitely talk to everyone above the sales person right up to the dealer owner if that's what it takes to get this straightened out.
Best of luck brother - hope you get things straightened out the way you want.
Relax, getting uptight won't get the bike built any faster. March is only the target date. The bikes arrival depends on how many bike are to be built before yours, how many more bikes are needed to make a shipment and where your dealer is on the shipment route.
Still I will agree this waiting thing sucks. I got my bike last summer and you know what....even I have to wait....for the gall dern snow to melt.[:@]
