Well, it all started last friday when I called to check up on my RK, to my knowledge it was suppose to be in the midst of assembly at the motor company, and be here by the end of march. so the sales guy was busy and I was told he would call me back in 10 minutes. Well MONDAY afternoon came and still no call. so, I called back again. I was told "I will know in an hour and a half, I'll call ya back" NO CALL ON MONDAY!! so today I call AGAIN! and my sales guy is off today!! so then i talk to the finance guy and he says that they can't find the bike I want ANYWHERE, but they are still looking. Then he ask's me if I would want any other color than vivid black, I said "black pearl", so now he is looking for either or!! and I am getting pissed off. He couldn't give me any date what so ever on delivery[:@] so now I have to call and bug them everyday just to make sure they have their asses in gear! it is just frustrating now that I have no bike and the weather(for now) is beautiful!!!!![sm=headbang.gif] I WANT MY HARLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeah but, I did strike a good deal with this guy ......... and if he can't find one in the area then i guess no one else around has one either! I don't know.....maybe i should just let this run it's course a bit more till I blow a gasket.
I think you should give it a little bit. If you are set on a particular bike/color/options, than you need to wait or you will later wish that you had...
I agree on the wait, or you will regret it. I am confused, hoewever, by the post. Do you have a buildable order (FIRM) or are they looking at other dealers for a swap for you. I would ask to see the dealership manager, and bypass the bean counters. I like my salesman and all, but we bypass him to get some real answers.
Have you put a deposit on the bike? If so, they should have given you a printout showing the details of the deal and the order number your bike is. They know months in advance what is being built for them and what month that it should be shipped. As it gets closer to the ship date, they can tell you exactly what day HD expects to ship it - all they have to do is punch in the order number. If you didn't put a deposit on the bike and they cut you a great deal, they may find someone that is willing to pay a higher price and conveniently loose your bike. I don't want to scare you, but wanted to throw out a thought. It is my understanding that the dealers don't communicate very well about each others inventory, so it is a good idea to check around in your area with other dealers. Another dealer may have exactly what you want on the floor or coming in very soon and the dealer your talking to wouldn't know it or even be interested. I hope everything works out for you.
My bike was 9 months later than the promissed delivery date. 2001, busy year, so I can relate. Couldn't do anything but call and try to get answers. Good luck.
