When I purchased my new bike I went to the local dealer. With cash in hand! No not rich just saved for years and sold my old bike. Anyway I walked in and was told that the sales team was in a meeting. [sm=bangbang.gif]So I left then later in the week I called to speak with a sales person about a bike and was told they were all out.[sm=wtf.gif] That was the last time I ever went in there. So I went to the next closest dealer and dropped my money on the bike of my dreams. A month later the salesman called and said it was the wrong color. [sm=headbang.gif]He said the right color would be there in a month. So the wait kept going. A week later he called again and said that one was the wrong color too. [sm=icon_beat.gif]I about lost my f@#king mind! I went down there and talked to the manager and got all my money back. I started making phone calls, after three different dealers that all had the same story I called one more. I spoke with a salesman named Randy who said he had one in a box just not put together yet. It was exactly the one I wanted. I asked how long for him to have it put together. The next morning I drove down and there it was. Beutiful, shiney, aaaaahhh![sm=bounceybounce.gif] He treated my wife and I great. Gave us some freebies and introduced us to everyone there. Took some pictures and away I went. He has sent flyers for rides that they sponsor and everything. Anyway thats the story. Some dealers are sh@t and some will go out of there way.[sm=rant.gif]There now I feel so much better.
When I purchased my 1st Ultra I went to a dealer reccomended by a co-worker and requested the same sales guy he had used twice before. Thru out the buying process he made me feel like he was doing me a favor selling me a bike, made me feel like crap, when I got my survey I flamed him , sure made me feel better.
My last purchase I shopped arround, still waiting for 2 people, at differnt dealers to call me back and that was in August. I think they have to much business and just dont give a rats ***. The dealer I did buy from did well by me except for taking a month to deliver after receiving from HD and doing the Mods....sales guy was good though.
My dealer made me feel like royalty. I've never been treated so nice by a any kind of dealership before. The owner was actively involved in every aspect of my purchase. When I walk in, it's a mad rush to cater to me. They treat everyone this way as far as I can see.
We have been really fortunate. Both dealers we have purchased from have treated us great. The one we use now is like the show cheers- everyone there knows your name. Truly a family experience.
Well, first, congratulations on the purchase of your new ride, sounds like you definitely paid you dues to get it. Did you go to the www.stealer-dealer.com page and post a comment? If not, you should.
Our dealer was awesome, and I have not had a single complaint. It recently changed hands, one of the mechanics in the back bought it out, so it's now Bobby's Territorial HD vice Jim's HD. Bobby was terrific at pick up, and he seems pretty awesome as an owner, nothing has changed...he's still back there wrenching.
Yeah I paid for it, but the wiat was worth it. And now I know which dealer to go to if I need something. A bit of a ride to get there, but hey, its worth it. And I will go to the stealer-dealer web site. Thanks.
My dealer has been great so far. No real complaints other than they are above MSRP on the bikes... I'm going to try to get them to throw in some free swag. Now that it's getting close to delivery time, and I'm planning on having the stage 1 done at delivery, I think I have a bit of bargaining power!
