What should an average backyard mechanic.....
Thanks, again, for all of the great information. It'll take me a while to gain enough courage to start, but, I feel fairly confident that I'll be able to do quite a bit of the work on my RK. I watched a video about changing cams and it didn't look all that difficult. Anyone ever install the 203 themselves? The pushrod tubes are actually cut off - now THAT would be scary! Talk about no turning back!
Ted,
Just a thought...have you considered a set of Big City Thunder Baffles? I've seen comments on this site from guys that thought they made as much "seat of the pants" difference as a set of cams. If that's the case it would be a much simpler and less expensive alternative ($79.95/set). I installed a set on my new '05 Road King Classic with Screamin' Eagle II slip-ons just last night but I haven't had a chance to try them out yet. It's in the lower 30's outside right now and if it hits 40 degrees I might go for a quick spin after I finish installing my lowering kit. There are several posters here that have them. Maybe they can chime in on this?[8D]
