Default H-D Paint Question about activator!

Finally picked up my Genuine Harley-Davidson Paint for my new front faring. I have to have a activator part number: 99825-02 (states on the top of the quart) and mix at a ratio of 4:1. Well I have not ordered it from the dealer. Only ordered the matching Fire Red Pearl acrylic urethane top coat that matchs my RK.

Question is: Can I get a readially available paint activator from one of the major paint jobbers that can work with the H-D paint?? Or is this something that "HAS" to be purchased through the deal for the top coat??

Additionally I'm being told that any primer as well as any clear coat can work with the top coat as well, I just wanted to verify if that is true too?? Not to mention that I want to dull the finish for the inside portion and have that a satin or matt, is their a special additive that has to be purchased to accomplish that to add into the top coat to allow this too??

Thanks all.

All the paint manufacturers recommend using matching products. I don't know what you paid for the paint, but being red I bet it was expensive. Makes sense to use the right activator, unless you can find a local painter who has done otherwise and knows it works.

Just my .02

That all sounds like a good idea to keep product lines matching, especially when that Fire Red Pearl is $100.94 a quart! [:@]
