Keeping in mind I'm friends with the owner... I paid MSRP, they waved the freight and prep and always give me 20% off accessories and motor clothes... I'm very happy with my dealer.
I aint never heard of any body paying more than msrp.
Actually, a few years ago, when the supply fell quite a bit short of the demand, most dealers were getting several thousand dollars over MSRP. It's pretty good now that they have increased their production a bunch.
Dang. I got to thinking. The price on tag on show room floor was a lil (well a lot) less than I actually paid for my last new one. I didnt even look at the paper work till a few nites latter. I bout had a cow when I saw a $400. assembly charge. Dang, it aint like they have to put the transmission gears in?/
I bought my 1st new super glide in 75. Cost then was $3100. Dont sound like much now, but that was still more than a new Ford pick up truck.
I have never been in a Harley dealer that sold their bikes at MSRP. They are always thousands more. I bought my 2003 Dyna a year old private sale with 8K miles for 11K. That's about 5K less than the dealers here in S. Fla on the same bike. Same with the new bikes. Way to expensive.
