Default Bike in a Pick Up

Hey Guys,
I want to bring my fatboy to my dads house in Cleveland (about 550 miles) for July 4th weekend. I cant afford a trailer nor do I have room to store one. I have a 2000 dodge ram 1500 4x4. I want to bring the bike in the bed of it. I have no idea where to even start to do this. Any tips suggestions advice direction would be awsome. Like I said not going until July but want to start thinking about how to get it done. Truck has a six foot bed.

Bike ramp is a possibility: http://www.motorcycleramps.com/ if ya can cough up the $300 entry fee.

Greenbay

Most motorcycle dealers have a loading dock, that I'm sure if you asked they would'nt mind you using. Other alternative is find a dirt bank that you can back the truck up to and load it that way, if you don't want to spend the money on a loading ramp for your truck.

Find any place that has a loading dock. Go over right before sunset when they're closed, back the truck up to it, ride the bike up onto the loading dock and head on home. Done it plenty of times.

I since people are questioning willingness to wide the 550. Two main reasons here. One and most important. Im going for a week or so and am bringing the old ball and chain. She cant go anywhere without every item in the closet. I would need to pull a uhaul behind the bike to make it work. Second and equally as important. I am new to riding and dont feel comfortbale at this point riding that long with out some more experince. I have a MSF course sheduled the end of June and think I should pracitce some more before putting a full day on the road. Rather be safe than sorry, as my skill increases so will my milage.

Supermarkets usually have a loading dock that does not have a fence or junkyard dawg.
