Default New Fat Boy

I am new to this forum and really have enjoyed reading all of the expertise on here. In Jan, I bought a 05 Fat Boy Carbeurated. Am having a blast. My question is this. I am coming up on my 1000 check up and have bought some SE11 Slip ons. My dealer lives about 75 miles away. Would it be ok to put them on myself and drive to Shreveport to have the carb rejetted and a new air filter or do I just need to let them do it all at the same time. Thanks for any help. Don't won't to mess anything up as I am a newbie.

You don't like the dealer in Texarkana?

Since you're just changing the exhaust, it won't hurt.

Skip,
I bought the bike in Bossier City. Thought I would let them do the first oil change. Do you know much about Doolin's?

Don't know that much about the place since I'm closer to Longview. I think ol' lady Doolin still owns it and it was one of the last dealers to build the "boutique" type shop. Head mechanic they had some years ago was great, but he died. Never heard anything bad about them; just wondered why you went to the S'port area.

Guy I work with told me Bossier finally started selling at msrp. 'Bout time they quit gouging.

Yeah...thats why I went to Bossier. I got a good deal on the Fat Boy...Black...16,700 Could have got about the same price in Texarkana, but I would have had to wait for it. Bossier had it on the floor.
