Default Restoring Chrome

I am restoring a 1972 Sporty. This bad boy has sat for 15 years. I would like to salvage as much of the chrome as I can. What is the best way and product to use to clean this stuff up??

My money says you'd be better off just re-chroming the pieces. Chrome can't be restored per-se', but any good chrome polish may clean off some of the funk

yeah, I agree, once chrome has rusted your screwed. If it doesn't come off with a couple of good chrome polish passes, that's the best it will get.

For me, it would just be easier to have a bunch of things re-chromed, than spending several hours on something that might-not look good anyway.

I would use 0000 steel wool and some chrome polish. It helps remove rust and shine things up. If that doesn't work, the re-chroming is the only answer.
