Default heat up garage?

I am going to start putting hangers on my Fatboy but I need heat in the garage & was wondering the best way to heat it up?
It is just a 2-car garage & I thought about a heating unit you place on top of a propane bottle, but I don't know enough about the gas in a closed area. Also not trying to get to $$$.
Thanx, Thomas

Any non vented heater will consume oxygen and make you buzz after a while. If you own the house a gas heater like natural gas or bottled gas that mounts to the cieling with a blower and is vented via a flu would be the best way to go and work well also.

We jsut use two eletric heaters, not huge, med size think I spend $40 bucks a piece for them. Crank them on and shut the door give it about a half hour and the edge is off, then just gets comfortable. Propane fill you garage with the smell of propane get overwhelming.

If you use any fossil fuel based heat, (natural gas, propane, kerosene, ect..) you need to vent it. Otherwise you will risk danger to yourself and your family and stink up the entire house. If you do not want to spend the $$ for venting, then use electric. It is safe and economical especially these days. Better safe then sorry. You can get sick or worse without even noticing it with fossil fuels if not vented. Not worth the chance IMO. Stay safe.

What's the purpose of heating up the area around the bike? I just bought a new 06 Fatboy and if I need heat, wanted to know why so I can get started.

There is several reasons, you may want to work on your bike or when your taking pics it is usually better when it is warm in the garage, better pics that way

I do most of my garage work in the winter, when it's too cold to go out and play. I have two heaters that work really weel, and are very inexpensive. I got them both used, so I think I paid less than $75 for both.

I have a small propane torpedo heater. It warms the place up very quickly, like 30* <30 minutes. But it is noisy.

Then I have a moderate sized kerosene heater. That's very slow, and would take an hour or two to raise the temp 30*. But you can run it all day on a quart of kerosene.

So I start them both at the same time. When it's comfy, I turn off the propane torpedo and let the kerosene heater keep it warm.
