Im trying to find out what color combos came on the 82 FXRS. I have the black and red/orange with the gold pinstripe, but im looking for the names and maybe what kind of paint it was... im in the process of getting a new back fender and i want it painted to match the tank and front fender. any help is appreciated... Thanks in advance
Stop by an HD parts counter and ask to see the Painted Parts Catalog. It's organized by year, model, etc. and should give you the paint names. PPG probably has an HD color to match.
With a bike of that age, I'm not sure whether you can expect an exact match with a newly painted part. I'm not an expert, but the elements do effect paint color. And after 16 years, HD may have changed paint formulations.
Just got off the phone with Harley. they ran my vin and told me i can go to the dealer and buy a primered fender and have it "Custom Painted" and they told me my colors are 2 tone red/ black paint code to put in the machine is 025
Yes..I am having the same issue as well with my 82 FXRS.....If anyone finds out the color combos...I would love to know..Thanks
