Default Detachable back rest problem

I just picked up my 2009 Road Glide. I had the detachable back rest installed with the four point bracket. Now that I'm home I can't get the back rest detached. It looks like the two black plastic latches should be pushed backward, but I can't get them to move. Tried tapping them with a plastic mallet, but that didn't work. Anyone have an idea? TIA.

There is a looking tab at the bottom of the latches, just squeeze them up with your thumbs then roll the latches back, should pop right off for you.

Thanks. I took it to the shop. The pins were bent. They've ordered me a replacement (even their mech couldn't make it work and broke the tabs trying to get it off).

Your installer should have given you the instructions that came with the equipment. It would have told you everything you needed to know. I suggest you get it and put it in a file to pass on to the next owner.
