Default HOK paint?

I am getting ready to paint my bike. I have priced many different options and talked to many people. Seems, house of kolor paint is double the price of any other brand. I understand the paints have more "effects" and options to make them cost more. I guess the basic question, is it worth the money? I don't mind spending it, if I can see where the extra dollars have gone.
If anybody has opinions I would like to hear them. Also, if anyone has HOK paint on their bike, I would love to see it!

What ever you do spend the money on the best paint you can.It will go on better ,last longer , and the end product will look better. If its ok to tell you about another forum, they have answers to all your questions.(Autobodystore.com) He has all the info you need plus he sell paint guns and suppies at a very good price. I use him for a lot of things I need and his shipping is very fast. I sure hope this helps and that I dont get in trouble the first day I'm on this forum.

I too am looking to re-paint...I want a blackest-black I can find...ANyone got any ideas? I would ultimately like to have some ghost flames put in, but I am leery about letting ANYONE other than family touch my Road King.

I just moved to San Antonio TX (remember the Alamo?) and am looking for a good body/paint shop. I haven't really hung out at the dealerships much (I really don't fit in), so I haven't asked around much...how do I know I am getting a good deal on a paintjob and not getting raked over the coals?

Thanks
q

Try finding an auto body place to do it. "Professional" car painters will charge you more, simply because you have a Harley. Also, ask if you purchase the paint if they will do it for you...that way you are not paying the mark up. I used "House of Kolor" on my bike, and couldn't be happier with the quality of the paint...BUT...the customer service there sucks and the forums on their page, nobody is willing to help. I got hold of a tech manaul, so if you decide to go with HOK I can help you out with mixing and flash times.
