Speedo not working!
I need some help! My speedometer is not working on my 2002 sportster. When I turn my key on the needle adjusts itself but when I accelerate the needle stays at the 0 mark. What could be causing this?

I had the same problem at the end of last season. It turned out to be the speed sensor. It is a pretty simple repair. You can pull it out and check if there are a lot of metal shavings on it. Sometimes they build up and don't allow it to read properly. If it is covered in shavings, clean it off , re install it and check it out.This just might cure your problem. This did not work for me(of course). The sensor was just bad. I ended up taking mine to my mechanic to trouble shoot it. Hope it's the sensor and not the speedo, they are expensive!
