Default surface scratches

Hey people,
I just got a new sportster black and pearl gold and I was wiping down the fender with a clean towel. I think I put some surface scratches on the black paint. What can I do? Thanks

Don't dry wipe the paint! Use a duster (feather). Use some scratch and swirl remover wax (I like liquids because the tend to NOT dig into the paint!) After that, try an old hot rod/show car trick...get some regualr baking corn startch and sprinkle it on the finish and wipe it down/buff it with a soft cloth (flannel is cool).

There are several ideas down in the detailing section, but I use Mequiers NXT Generation wax and it works pretty well. My bike is black as well.

McGuier's makes a cleaner/wax product. It's wax with a very fine rouge in it. Just apply and hand buff. Works great for getting swirl marks, etc out of clear coat.

Never use anything other than a soft, pure cotton cloth on the clear coat, or a microfiber towel.

I have had great success with Meguiars Scratch X.. its in the tube.. its great on black... I actually apply it with a bounty or viva papertowel(very soft) and wipe it off with a cloth baby diaper... then to get it really glossy I wait about 5 minutes after I wiped all the wax off I hit it in the same process with pig-snot wax... it makes my chop shine...

dude , i have an excellent wat to dry your ride,,,use a leafe blower ,it drys everything and does an excellent job..you will never have to use a harsh towel that will scratch your paint......dont use a compressed air tank to dry your ride ,they contain oils with in the tank,,just use the leafe blower,,,have fun..................................tony
