Im my many years of HD ownership, I have had many times to stop on the side of the road to tighten bolts or repair something "falling off". Im not here to complain although if you read the information your dealer supplies or when you are looking at "whats done during xxx service" one of the items is "check and/or tighten all fasteners" They apparently arent doing it.
Do yourself a favor:
purchase some blue loctight, this will help keep fasteners in place....Avoid red or you are going to be needing some heat to get the bolt out again.
get both a set of allen wrenches and torx drives and a multi tool just incase.
TAPE!!
Some touring models come with a tool kit, most dont. IF you arent into preventing maint, do yourself a favor and take the tools.
