Hi there. Hope you don't mind my throwing my 2 cents in. We bought our first Harley in 2001, a 2002 HD Herigage Softail Classic....Vivid Black. We rode that baby for 3 years with not ONE single problem. We sold it a few months ago (due to a very long story...no problem with the bike though). We then decided we didn't want to live without the bike, so we bought another Heritage Classic, different color, a 2005. We loved the Heritage so much that it is the only choice for us. We don't really like dressers, but we couldn't get the bagless ones either due to us riding so far (need a little place to put our rain coats, few things). We love Fat Boys and other bikes, but we just needed the back rest, saddle bags etc, so the Heritage was our choice. We LOVE it!! I've had many a mile on the back with my husband, and I stay comfortable.
And leak oil?? NOT ONCE!

Before you take the "dream" out..
You just can't explain your first H.D. I liked it better then sex....for about the first fifty miles and since then it runs a pretty damn close second!Here is a quick pre-ride check for you.Remember the word "T-C.L.O.C.K." ,It goes somthing like this..
"T"- tires and rims,check your air pressure,then check your rims for dents,dings and secure spokes.
"C"-controls and cables,check anything connected to a cable and make sure your levers and cables feel smooth and don't bind.
"L"-lights,make sure they all work,explanation not necesary and if it is,at this point put the bike away,tell the ole lady to get ya a beer,and hide your key's[sm=icon_cheers.gif]
"O"- oil and fuel,just like ya need beer and womens,ya bike needs oil and gas.[8D]
"C&K"-chassis and kickstand,sit on the bike,rock it back and forth,check your spring settings,if your riding two up adjust accordingly,make sure the kickstand is secure and up prior to takling off.
Sounds like a lot of bull but after awhile you can do it all in under a few minutes and you more then likely won't wind up on the side of the rode and will learn the ins and outs of your scoot/Luck with your new ride!
