Easy off oven cleaner sprayed on a rag away from the bike then wipe the pipes. Then clean easy off with your choice of metal cleaner or polish.

I use an SOS pad, they are fine steel wool with a soapy stuff in it. It also acts kinda like a wax, works great on chrome wheels as well.

SOS or fine steel wool is best I've found. Works on all chrome.

Steel wool will scratch chrome and get worse over time. I suggest you try easy-off frist as it would not damage the chrome. But be careful not to get easy-off on anything else.

There are other chrome cleaners and polishes, but I would stay away from steel wool.

0000 steel wool works very well. Never had a problem with scratching. Just keep the pad wet/moist at all times.

Eagle One Wadding compound and elbow grease worked for me when I did the same thing at Deals Gap in May.

Easy Off works well also....
