Steering lock

Default Steering lock

Hi all, I'Ve a 2005 Ultra classic, locked up bike , next morning unlocked key, **** turned to start position but steering lock would not come of, anyone know how the lock works and how to get it off, any help would be great as going round in small circles aint any fun.

Usually, I have to push in and turn at the same time. Other than that, I have no idea. Maybe some dubba-D?

First of all....try and push-pull the handlebars one way or another to see if it will unlock. Sounds like the plunger is binding. Failing this....PM me and I will send you a detailed set of instructions on how to remove the switch. I would not dare try and explain it to you here in a post. You can yank the entire switch and see if there is something wrong with the mechanism itself, or some alignment issue between the top fork bracket and the lock-plate welded on the backbone. There is no way you can get under there and push the plunger up by hand. Make sure nothing is binding between the rubber doughnut fork stops and the frame.
