Default Minor Problem - help

Hi Guys, I have an '05 Road King with the factory security system. The security lamp has started to come on while riding and stays on - it seems to go off momentarily when I use a turn signal. As a side issue that may be related, I also noticed this after washing my bike (the problem hasn't gone away, however) and I also noticed that if the sun hits the speedometer the right way, there's some haze on the inisde of the glass on the speedometer as though there may have been some water in there (the location of the security lamp). If someone has the electrical diagnostics manual, please check the security fault codes - according to the owners manual, that may be what's up. Thanks!

A faulty light bulb will cause the security light to come on among other things. Check your blinkers and running lights. As for the moisture in the speedo, you have two options, replace the speedo only to have it happen again or live with it. The MOCO doesn't view it as a problem and will not warranty it.

When the security light stays on, that is an indication of an electrical short somewhere in the system. You could have moisture in the turn signal sockets that is creating the problem. Pull the lenses and blow everything out. Then check the bulbs.

Phil's right, the speedo is a recurring problem HD won't deal with.

You got it right, Phil! My front left turn signal had cracked and burned out. Replaced it and everything is normal again. Thanks for the help!!
