Default windshield bag vibrations

I have 06 RKC and put the matching windshield bag on it to hold cell phone & smokes. Nothing much maybe a pound or less , bag says 2 pound max. 1st & 2nd gear the windshield vibrates so bad I thought it was going to come off the rubber bushings. 3rd gear on up theres no vibration at all. When I put the bag on I tightened all the acorn nuts on the windshield till they were snug. There are two wires, one on each side ,with loops on the end, are they supposed to be attached to something? Any suggestions on how to get the vibration out of 1st & 2nd gear?

I had the same problem with my 01 RK. The bag shook very bad. I finally used 1" pieces of hook and loop (Velcro) behind the bag and to the windscreen. I'm not sure what your wires are for.

The vibration is normal. You never noticed it before because you didn't have the windshield pouch. My only suggestion is to make certain the leather isn't rubbing against anything (other than the windshield), as it will wear paint/chrome/etc away.

Oh! Those wires with hoops are actually on your windshield, not your new bag, aren't they? I thought you were saying they were on your new windshield bag. Those two wires just act as catches to prevent the windshield from falling off toward the front. Without them the windshield might lay across your front fender when you stop short! Not cool! I doubt that that would have much to do with your shaking problem but if they are sloppy loose you can bend them a little. I think the added weight of the windshield bag and its contents just adds a new dynamic to a crazy shaking situation. Just secure the bag to the windshield somehow in addition to the acorn nuts.

Thanks for the replies. Will give the velcro a try. Guess I was worried about the vibration cracking the windshield. Yes the wires are on the windshield. Glad I asked , I was going to use them to hang the windshield on the wall when Im not using it.
