So here is the deal, buddy of mine just got thrown back in the hooskow. Probably for 4 or 5 years, (swears he was innocent). Anyhow I am being a good bro and storing his 2002 heritage in my garage. Problem is he has had it outside for about 3 years. Chrome is rusted up something feirce. Is there any hope at cleaning it up for him. Took me 2 nights to get the windshield so you could see through it. Want it clean incase he wants to sell it or even give it to me for storing it. (wishful thinking). Keeps stalling to unless fully choked, I think thats bad gas. (goddam buretos). Thanks to all for your input.

 

Get some s100 polishing soap. It'll take that rust and corrosion right off.

 

I use -ooo steel wool & a good crome cleaner .your only going to get it so good . When you think you got it wax it .works for me. Do not do this on painted areas.crome only & mag wheels.

 

And remember it isn't the chrome that is rusting, but the steel underneath. That's why the wax after cleaning/rust removal is important.
