I've got a 2010 fatbob. I'd like to change pipes and add a heavy breather. 2 shops have told me I need a super tuner and a custom mapping. 1 shop says just a custom mapping. I don't know if there just gigging me for more money or trying to do me right.
jamfish, your dealer is telling you the part truth.
Well is trying to sell you something at least.
You can go with the SEPRT from Harley and about 8 hours for a custom map on the dyno or you can get the Power Commander V and tuned in about three hours on the dyno.
They are looking to make the most money from you and both will give very good results.
Notice I didnt say either will give you great results . That is due to everyones onpinion being different.
So, do the math , do some research and Ensure you use due diligence when asking and acting upon advice given.
Personally, I have used the PCIII and liked the results.
I am now loaded with the SEPRT and a MAP that was provided with the software.
I am using the MAP that was in the software due to the reason my bike is built using the SE Parts listed in that info and am now saving for a tune next spring.
