Ok, I need to know if 2003 883 heads will fit on a 2005 883. Here's the story, busted the studs for my pipes on my 2005 883, in the process of drilling them out one of the holes was drilled a little off. rode it like that for the summer and i'm not really liking the way t looks with the one off center stud decided to put other heads on it.
The heads i bought are off of a 2003 883. I called the local dealer and talked to the mechanic to make sure they would fit my 2005 883, he said they would. So i went ahead and purchased the heads put them on, fired the bike up. Once the bike started up there was a knocking sound, possibly piston slap and the push rod tubes seem to be tight.
Ok, here's my question. First will 2003 heads fit on a 2005 and if so do i need to use adjustable pushrods?
Thanks in advance for any and all help. Also if anyone has any other unsight to what it could be that would be great, again, thank you!!
