Default Primary drain plug

Hello-I have a 72 iron head sportster and the drain plug for the primary is stripped(case threads). Does anyone have suggestions on the best fix(oversize plug, heli-coil, and etc.) THank you for any help!

It depends on what level of skill you have, or how much you want to spend. Retap, or drill and tap is best. The cheapest fix is a rubber plug that expands when you turn it from an auto parts store. Personally, I would avoid helicoil. I used that solution in the past and it didn't work well.

That is ridiculous! A helic-coil will leak between the threads. Look for a shop that can install a Thread-sert and use a newer style plug. Remember, when the plug fails, it is in the line of tread patch.
