Posssible cam replacements also. oil pressure relief valve. oil lite is on think maybe oil pumpis bad , but other related parts may need be replaced. oil lite goes off above 2500 rpm, bike seems to run ok, but have a slight noise behind cam cover. have not rode for months, want to ride again, but worried about cost. 40,000 miles on POLICE issue electra-glide. thanks for looking. also could this be an electrical prob? had dead battery . charged it bike started w/ no oil lite. had running lites off to help batt, oil lite came on so did running lites. which leads me to believe possible electrical solution. apologise so long , just miss my bike. only owned a / this harley for 1 yr. now. was fine when bought.
riley sounds like your tensoners wore out and you have pieces of the plastic shoe stuck in the relief valve, dought pump is bad. Aftermarket pump 400 cams 250-300 labor 300-400 cam shoes/bearings/gaskets/adjustable push rods 300-400 good luck!

High crank runout will also take out an oil pump.
I would not make any plans without measuring the crank runout first.
It can be done with minimal effort and expense.
For around 400 bucks you can get the conversion kit to hydraulic tensioners and it comes with a new higher volume oil pump. otherwise your gonna spend 400 on a pump and another hundred on the old style tensioners which you will have to change in another 30 to 40k miles.
