A buddy took this off his Thunder Mountain Chopper, we thought it would fit my 01 Fatboy. It wasn't until I found the plugs were different, I took it to local HD dealer...found out the model number.

I'm trying to sell locally. A common question is about the odometer reading. One guy thought the mileage is stored in the ECM. Anyone know if this is installed it will read the bike's current mileage?
I'm new here...I will post to a 'parts for sale' forum...as soon as I find it.
AFAIK on most models/years the Odo is not stored in the ECU and is only available with some models/years through the OEM speedo. Apparently on some models that have support in the OEM speedo the Odo value can be "queried" on the data bus.
I have heard that with 2011 Softails and now 2012 Dyna' (using HDLAN) that Odo is stored in the ECU but I have yet to confirm if that is true or not.
